крыл. сл. Ищите женщинуВыражение это употребляется (часто по-французски: «Cherchez la femme»), когда хотят сказать, что виновницей какого-либо события, бедствия, преступления оказывается женщина. Крылатым оно стало благодаря роману Александра Дюма-отца (1802-1870) «Могикане Парижа», переделанному им в одноименную драму (1864). Слова эти в «Могиканах Парижа» (в романе ч. III, гл. 10 и 11, в пьесе — д. 2, явл. 16) являются излюбленной поговоркой парижского полицейского чиновника.
